Would Recommend?yesThe quality of the education and preparations I received made me excited to enter teaching as a career. I am still excited every day to be a teacher.
Program Reputation8I believe the school has a very good reputation in science education, with professors who are very diligent in what they do. They also work on changing and updating as needed.
Program Quality10My college was nationally accredited for teaching programs and provided many opportunities to be in the classroom before graduating. Once I was on my own with a job, I felt very comfortable with my preparation.
Instruction9All of the methods classes I took were very well-taught by actual teachers who had a lot of experience. They listened to students and gave real life advice and examples.
How Difficult7Many of the subject matter courses I took were very challenging and high level. If found them to require a lot of hard work at times.
Hands-On vs. BookishThe combination varied depending on the course involved. I found science classes to be very hands-on while other humanities courses were not as hands-on.
Schedule Flexibility8There were many classes offered in the summer and even during winter break. I don't remember any weekend offerings, but evening offerings were good for teaching.
Academic Facilities7I didn't take advantage of many support services. I had my own computer to use and rarely used the computer labs. The science labs were sufficient at the time for my needs.
Social Life8I lived on campus and had many opportunities to be involved. You get out of it what you put into it.
Placement Services7The placement center was very good at sending out my files when I requested them. They were easy to work with even though I was out of the country for student teaching.
Alumni Network5I am not really involved in the alumni networking. It did not do anything to get me a job upon graduation.
