CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?maybeIt was a nice school. The Political Science Department is highly regarded. They offer internships to compliment their classroom offerings. The social aspects of the school might be off-putting to some.
Program Reputation10The Political Science program is highly regarded in the state of Maryland. Many of the instructors political officials in Maryland.
Program Quality10The Political Science program at Frostburg State employees highly qualified and well trained instructors. It is highly regarded in the state of Maryland.
Instruction8For the most part, instruction was good. Some of the instructors had personal issues that prevented them from truly helping their students.
How Difficult7I found the academic challenge and work load to be about average. Extra credit was available if you asked for it.
Hands-On vs. BookishI found the program to be rather book learning oriented. They did offer some internships, though.
Schedule Flexibility5Having graduated in 1977, I can not speak on the current condition of the school's class schedule flexibility. When I attended Frostburg, they did offer weekend, evening, and summer classes.
Academic Facilities10I recall there being a huge, new library. Tutors were provided when requested. The classrooms were adequate. The professors made themselves available after class for discussions.
Social Life7There was a very segregated lifestyle. This bled, unpleasantly, into all parts of the social experience.
Placement Services6I have not benefited from any of their job placement programs. I also have not received any career assistance from them.
Alumni Network4The alumni network has not kept in touch with me. They provided some report back in the seventies, but I haven't heard anything from them since then.
