"I am very satisfied, overall, with my school. My opinion is strengthened by others I know who are also very satisfied with the experience."
Ratings are on a 1-10 scale
| Characteristic | Rating | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Would Recommend? | yes | Anyone seeking a strong educational experience should consider my school. The instruction is top notch, and the instructors are experts in their fields. |
| Program Reputation | 7 | The program I participated in had an exceptional reputation. The recent economic downturn has left some graduates jobless, leading to less of a stellar reputation. |
| Program Quality | 10 | My educational experience provided an excellent background with which to enter the IT field. The college experience, working with others, and developing projects as a team provided a wonderful experience. |
| Instruction | 9 | The instruction I received was exceptional and most professional. The instructors were very adept at career guidance and real-world expertise. |
| How Difficult | 9 | The range of topics covered in my course of study was substantial. The result was a well-rounded understanding of the business world. |
| Hands-On vs. Bookish | The learning experience, for me, was a mixture of hands-on training and book learning. More hands-on training was made available to students who preferred it, while more book-based learning was also available. | |
| Schedule Flexibility | 7 | The school offers flexible class schedules. Morning and afternoon segments were offered when I attended, and I believe weekend sessions are currently offered. |
| Academic Facilities | 9 | The school facilities were more than adequate for my program of study. The equipment was professional and the personnel were experts in their fields. |
| Social Life | 9 | As with any college experience, mine was quite social. I made several lifelong friends and many short-term ones. |
| Placement Services | 7 | When I graduated, the best employment opportunities were those I found outside of school participation. Most recent graduates also agree that they have had similar experiences. |
| Alumni Network | 9 | I constantly receive emails discussing alumni events and accomplishments. The school offers a good level of alumni support. |

"I loved GT. It really has opened up doors for me and created connections I couldn't have gotten anywhere else. I definitely had a great college experience and it helped me grow up and push myself too."
Ratings are on a 1-10 scale
| Characteristic | Rating | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Would Recommend? | yes | You'll never have enough hands on experience when you start your job, but CS at GT was a very good start. I'd never gotten to where I was without going to Georgia Tech. |
| Program Reputation | 9 | I think that GT's computer science degree is well known, at least in Georgia. I had friends who ended up going to work for Google. |
| Program Quality | 9 | I liked my major, but I was definitely not prepared for all the challenges out there. Wish I had more real world experiences during school. |
| Instruction | 9 | I wish there were some internship requirements. I could definitely have been more prepared for the real world. |
| How Difficult | 8 | Definitely very difficult. I worked lots of long hours, but it was worth it. |
| Hands-On vs. Bookish | It really depends on the class. We had books, but for computer science classes the teachers would explain in lecture and we would do the homework and practice concepts online. | |
| Schedule Flexibility | 3 | If there were any flexible options, I didn't know about them. Most of my classes were during the day. There were summer classes, but no online classes. |
| Academic Facilities | 8 | Good classrooms, good advisers, great labs. Everyone has their own computer, but there were lots in the library. There were plenty of tutors and I really liked the breakout sessions with TA's. They were always more approachable than professors and explained concepts better. |
| Social Life | 10 | I was in a sorority so I had a great experience. I went to football games, parties, and dances. I'm not sure I would have had as good an experience if I wasn't in the sorority. |
| Placement Services | 9 | GT provides lots of opportunities for finding a job. If you don't take advantage of those opportunities, its not because there weren't any. |
| Alumni Network | 10 | GT has a great alumni network. I get information from them at least once a week and they have career fairs maybe twice a year. They are very good about making an effort to keep up the connection. |

"I miss the social interactions. There are some courses I am glad to not have to go through again."
Ratings are on a 1-10 scale
| Characteristic | Rating | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Would Recommend? | maybe | It is a cheap alternative to going away to school. Once you graduate, you'd better be ready to look outside of Dalton for work. |
| Program Reputation | 8 | This program has beefed up since I left in 2004. The college as a whole is trying to build a premier reputation with an international business accreditation. |
| Program Quality | 6 | I felt well prepared in the academics. I did not feel well prepared in searching for a job. |
| Instruction | 8 | My instructors were mostly excellent. My only complaints would be in some of the subjects that were not required for my major, particularly the humanities courses. Those professors did not seem as connected to students as the professors of major related courses. |
| How Difficult | 7 | The course work was manageable to anyone that could manage time wisely. You had to be disciplined to make it through, though. |
| Hands-On vs. Bookish | Passing humanities courses depended solely on reading the book. Core major classes sometimes didn't have assigned text books, and the ones that did were lab style classes. | |
| Schedule Flexibility | 7 | The first two years, I could manage to get classes anytime I needed them. My final year and a half, I struggled with conflicts due to classes I needed not being offered when I could take them because of my work. |
| Academic Facilities | 10 | Facilities are excellent. Additions to the library doubled its size while I was there, and there have been two buildings opened in the last 10 years. |
| Social Life | 10 | The social experience was the best part. It is the thing I miss most about college. |
| Placement Services | 1 | They were never able to help me get a career started. I did not get an IT job until 4 years after graduation, and then only because my then-future-mother-in-law knew of an opening her manager had. |
| Alumni Network | 3 | I came out of college with no network to speak of at all outside of the college itself. The only contact from the alumni association has been in asking for donations. |
