"I really enjoyed the city, as well as the people. Cookeville is an excellent place for this university."

Would Recommend?maybeThey are actively trying to improve the program. I look forward to seeing where they take it in the near future.
Program Reputation7TTU has a great reputation with engineering and computer programming. Excellent instructors are mostly the reason for this.
Program Quality4The program is very basic. The school is great, but it would have been great to have more access to technology.
Instruction7The instructors are the best people at the university! Very helpful and full of knowledge.
How Difficult5The work was pretty basic in the web classes. The computer science classes made up for this so it mostly evens out.
Hands-On vs. BookishThere was actually less computer use than I expected. Tests were mainly hand-writing code.
Schedule Flexibility6Tons of online classes. Night classes seemed to be a good option as well.
Academic Facilities4Computer labs are a bit lacking. The software is excellent, though.
Social Life4I was not very interested in this aspect of the school. Academics are the main focus there.
Placement Services4I was not very impressed by this. They have an online resource but they removed me from this shortly after adding me.
Alumni Network5They plan events all over the US, so that is awesome. They like to keep you in the loop so you feel well connected to what is going on.

Would Recommend?maybeLast I looked, the programs last were more geared toward general compiled programming, rather than web development. I'd have to study the degrees offered now to give a rating in that regard. However, the foundation knowledge of object oriented programming with C and C++ is well applied just about anywhere, especially with the Software Engineering courses.
Program ReputationI can't really answer this. I do not routinely interact with anyone familiar with my school or its graduates. I know many of my former classmates are well employed though.
Program Quality8I really enjoyed the curriculum and my professors were great. The Software Engineering year was especially satisfying.
Instruction7I found limited opportunity in the C++ field in the region. It was also difficult to find an opportunity to relocate. So, I was left to learn web development on my own, still the foundation work in school is quite helpful.
How Difficult7I spent less time working than most of my classmates, but still the amount of time spent on project work was considerable when combined with the amount of mathematics study involved.
Hands-On vs. BookishEvery class put great emphasis on lab projects. I spent the vast bulk of my time writing and debugging code. Very little was spent reading or studying notes for exams. Just about everything you needed to learn was tied directly to the programming work.
Schedule Flexibility10The schedule was built for working people as well as full-time students. Lots of night classes were offered. It was possible to get all core requirements in Monday through Thursday. I took summer courses to catch up after a major change. There were at least two parallel paths to finish a major at your own pace.
Academic Facilities9Half of a building was devoted to the program and included four computer labs. The school in general was heavily invested in computer technology and there were many student accessible places to work. No need for your own computer. Small class sizes, knowledgeable professors, great experience.
Social Life4It's a relatively small school, compared to major universities. The athletics program is there, but not great. I lived off campus the whole time and didn't get involved much in the social environment. Of course I transferred in from a much larger university where there was a lot more going on. I think things have improved a bit since I graduated.
Placement Services6I didn't take advantage of all that was offered, so I can't give a thorough review. There is an online network I frequented and it was fairly mediocre. I rarely found a decent opportunity to even apply for. Though, I did apply for and was offered a position in the University IT department after finding a job listed there.
Alumni Network3I may be ignorant of the potential here. I've had little contact with the University since graduating. Actually, I should probably look into it more since I need a new opportunity.
