Management Degrees

Business Management Degree

A Business Management major, also referred to as a Business Administration major, is a general business program for those who want a broad business education with additional focus on the knowledge needed to be an effective manager. These programs cover all areas of business including accounting, finance, human resources, marketing, computer information systems, and operations management. This major is a good choice for someone who wants to run a small business or who wants to keep all career options open rather than be limited to one area such as marketing or finance.

Job opportunities for Business Management graduates vary greatly depending on the industry and the type of job an individual is looking for. High-paying management analyst positions are very competitive while other entry-level jobs in growing industries will be relatively easy to find.

Degree Options

  • Associate's Degree - A graduate of an associate's degree program in business management will be prepared for an entry-level position such as administrative assistant, retail manager or office manager. Many students choose to continue on to earn a bachelor's degree.
  • Bachelor's Degree - A bachelor's degree program is a flexible program that will prepare students for an entry-level job in any industry.
  • Master's Degree - As discussed in the BrainTrack MBA degrees article, MBA graduates are ready to take on more responsibility and leadership in their area of concentration.
