US Federal and State Financial Aid

Federal Financial Aid for College Students

The US Federal government is a major provider of educational financial aid. In recent years nearly ten million students have annually received $100 billion in new federal aid to help them fund their education in universities, colleges, career schools, and trade schools. At any given moment, there are approximately $500 billion of federal-sponsored student loans in the US. States are also an important provider of financial aid for higher education within their borders.

BrainTrack's coverage of federal and state financial aid reviews the process for requesting aid, starting with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and the various types of available aid, including grants, loans, work-study, military and taxes.
