Presented here are online schools profiled by BrainTrack. More are being added as part of an active research program in to this new, rapidly growing class of universities and colleges. A few recent additions include:
Online higher education programs, sometimes referred to as e-learning, e-training, or distance learning, have sustained double-digit growth rates annually for several years. In the U.S. alone more than two million students are taking online degree classes. Students have many online education options, both from schools which are 100% online and those which offer online degrees as an extension of established campus-based programs. Some online programs require occasional campus attendance, while others can be pursued entirely over the internet.
College degrees earned online, especially from the larger better-known schools, are increasingly accepted by large employers as equivalent to more traditional campus-based degrees.
Online School Advantages
Convenience: Almost all online degree programs allow students to pursue their studies any time of day or night, from any computer with internet access. Many online programs even allow students to set their own pace, either accelerating or slowing down their progress toward their degrees.
Selection: There are literally hundreds of online degree programs, including many specialties not available from most traditional colleges. Online courses allow students in rural areas, even other countries, to earn accredited degrees in desired fields of study.
