University of Idaho and Carnegie Mellon University Winners Share Advice and Experiences
MARLBOROUGH, MA, June 2, 2010 –– BrainTrack, a widely referenced higher-education resource, today announced the Spring 2010 winners for its BrainTrack Business Schools Scholarship, a twice yearly scholarship for business degree students that is designed to help future students. The winners are Sarah Sakai of the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho, who received the $1,000 first-place award, and Christine Warner of Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who received a $500 second-place award.
"Through its essays BrainTrack's Business Schools Scholarship program offers those considering business career paths the helpful perspectives and experiences of real students," said David Siegel, Vice President of Operations with BrainTrack's publisher, Futuremeld, LLC. "We are publishing a selection of these essays as student stories. The winners were chosen for the creativity, thoughtfulness, and usefulness of their entries."
"I chose business as a future career because it gave me the freedom to help those that I felt called to help," said first-place BrainTrack Business Schools Scholarship winner Sarah Sakai, who is working toward her Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Economics from the University of Idaho. Her winning essay offers practical perspectives on what to expect upon entering a school and how a degree in business can create a practical foundation for fulfilling undiscovered dreams and desires.
BrainTrack Business Schools Scholarship runner up Christine Warner has completed almost two years towards her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Psychology from Carnegie Mellon University. In her essay, she recommended that first year business students get started right away in developing relationships with upperclassmen, faculty members and career consultants, and taking advantage of the many out-of-class resources available to them.
A summary of useful tips offered by entrants, as well as the winning essay entries, are published in BrainTrack's Business Student Stories section.
