BrainTrack Announces Business Schools Scholarship Winners for Spring 2011

Scholarship Winners From Texas A&M University and University of Idaho Offer Guidance to Future Business Students

MARLBOROUGH, MA, May 23, 2011 - BrainTrack, a widely referenced university and college website, today announced the Spring 2011 winners of its BrainTrack Business Schools Scholarship, a biannual scholarship for business degree students that is designed to help future students through the experiences of current students. The winners are Mary Larkin of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, who received the $1,000 first-place award, and Sarah Sakai of the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho, who received the $500 second-place award.

"The insights offered by our scholarship entrants are helpful to those considering similar school and career paths," says David Siegel, Vice President of Operations with BrainTrack's publisher, Futuremeld, LLC. "We publish selections from these essays on our site. Our judges select winners based on the creativity, thoughtfulness and practicality of their essays."

In Mary Larkin's winning essay, she advises students on the various considerations to be taken into account for choosing and entering a business program. She also offers guidance on unexpected obstacles and letdowns that students may run into as they pursue their business careers. Mary is currently working towards her Master's degree in Accounting.

Runner-up Sarah Sakai is currently pursuing her Bachelor's degree in Marketing. One of the take home messages from her essay revolves around the fact that a business degree can open many, many doors. Regardless of one's passions, the skills learned in business school are invaluable. Sarah also warns students against losing sight of what's truly important. While a strong focus on the bottom line is crucial for success in the business world, folks should not lose sight of the more valuable things in their lives.

The winning essay entries, as well as a summary of useful tips offered by entrants, are published in BrainTrack's Business Student Stories section.
