The world’s largest Pentecostal Christian denomination is Assemblies of God Church (AG), with more than 300,000 churches and outstations across the globe. In the United States alone, there are over 12,000. It is the fourth largest international body of Christians, with followers close to 60 million. The Assemblies of God traces its roots to the Pentecostal revival movement of the early 20th century in Kansas, and spreading rapidly to Texas, Missouri and California.
Assemblies of God Church Higher Education Overview
The Assemblies of God Church is affiliated with U.S. colleges and universities from coast to coast, with the largest school, Southeastern University, located in Lakeland, FL. Founded in 1935, Southeastern was originally a Bible college, but now has four degree-granting colleges: Arts and Sciences, Education, Christian Ministries and Religion, and Business and Legal Studies. Another school, Bethany University (Scotts Valley, CA) was the first college founded by the Assemblies of God, and offers associate's, bachelor's and master's degrees in the arts, sciences and professional studies.
