North American Baptist Colleges
North American Baptist Conference (NABC) was originally an association of Baptists in the United States of German ethnic heritage, rooted back in 1839. In 1843, the first German Baptist Church was organized in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This was the oldest church affiliated with the North American Baptist Conference. German Baptist Churches were organized in Illinois, Missouri, New York, and Wisconsin from the 1840s to 1850. The Conference adopted its present title in 1944, removing the reference to its ethnic identity. Approximately 70% of NABC member churches are in the U.S. with the remaining 30% in Canada. The NABC has more than 60,000 members in nearly 450 churches in the United States and Canada.
