Undenominational Higher Education Overview

The largest higher education institution categorized by the US Department of Education as having undenominational affiliation is Azusa Pacific University, or APU, which was founded by merging three Christian institutions: the Azusa College, Arlington College, and Los Angeles Pacific College. Located in Azusa, California, APU confers degrees from ranging from undergraduate through doctoral and professional degrees from several disciplines including liberal arts, nursing, business and music. Another undenominational category school, Biola University, is an Evangelical, private, co-educational university located in La Mirada, California. It was established in 1908 as the Bible Institute of Los Angeles, later renamed Biola College and in 1981, the College was finally named Biola University. This suburban campus offers students degrees from the schools of business, psychology, education and international studies.
